Overview:
Interboro Youth Athletic Association is an independent non-profit
organization whose purpose is to support and expand athletics at all amateur
levels. Rising out of an organization that was started over 40 years ago by the
late Charlie Bowen, Interboro was launched in 1971 and received non-profit
status from the State of New Jersey.
I.Y.A.A. operates several teams in different leagues. Our mission as an advocacy organization is to support and enhance the development of our teams, coaches, parents and players with resources and best practices such as coaching and health & safety information.
The activities of I.Y.A.A. generally focus on the following: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship, identifying best practices and standards, aggregating resources, and the promoting of sport.

Interboro Youth Athletic Association believes that the well-being of
athletes depends on a broad appreciation of the sports, excellence in coaching,
an emphasis on safety and health, high levels of youth participation, and
collaboration with the many partner organizations involved in amateur athletics.
